Auto 94 7.3 idi turbo.. Replaced tach Sensor. New tcm. New trans harness... Trucks working and shifting fine... Make a right turn and the trucks rpm shoots down to zero and won't shift... Hmmm... Checked tach connection and it was good. Also read around 3.03k on the meter... Looked under the dash and the same color wires for the tach are disconnected and touching bare metal... Did I short out the cluster?? Thoughts cause I'm lost?? Thanks guys
Re connected the wires and still no change. I can shift manually through the gears 1,2 and D but it won't go into fourth. I don't know where to go from here.. That's why I'm wondering if it fried the gauge cluster when it was exposed?? Just a thought. How can I diagnose that??
you connected the wires, insured they can't chafe again but the tach is still inop correct?
if so,it probably blew the fuse.check that now that they've been repaired.
what about P in under hood fuse panel? I and U need to be good or tach doesn't work either but od light should be on i think if those blow due to the teca relay not getting power when they blow but check 'em.
