Alright yall so I'm gonna be in the market real soon and I'm trying to decide what tires to go for now Im set on getting mud tires, how ever they will see hi-way, street, and some occasional dirt, mud, etc. Right now I have goodyear wranglers (I'm 99% sure) I don't mind em and they seem get me through the mud alright especially for pretty much being at the end of their life span and for a 2wd lol.
so if anyone has a suggestion for mud tires that won't fall apart on street or hwy. let me know
I've had great service from my Falken WildPeaks and they have a beefy sidewall on them so I can air them down to about 15-20 pounds if I need some extra traction in sand. They do okay in mud as well, I'd say slightly better than BFG A/T's but of course they ain't no Super Swampers either. I'd say they're the best all around tire I've had.

I HIGHLY reccomend looking into the brand spanking new Cooper STT Pro, it's a bit of a mud/at combo but closer to the mud side, not TOO pricy as it is a Cooper, it should be a very formidable tire and Coopers are always the top of my list for tires on 1/2 tons-lighter 3/4 tons.

Those Wildpeaks are a decent tire for about 1/2 the tread life, but believe me (coming from a tire tech at Discount Tire in OK for 2 years) they will wear through the first little tread pattern layer, and then they're basically a zig zagged half slick. One of my bosses mistakenly bought them for his F-250 and he HATES them now, but said they weren't bad for the first 10-15k.
You may already have these tires, depending on which Wranglers you have.
But I recommend Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs. I've had them for about 3 years now and I really like them. Great in snow, good in mud, and less road noise then an M/T.

I recently got a set of these as well. Happy so far
I'm right there to, ready to buy tires in the next week. I've been looking at Cooper STT's and the ST MAXX. I think I'm going to go with the ST MAXX since I really need more of an all around tire.
