alright fellas, in the guise of debate and friendly argument, I'm going to try gain some information on your oppinions of the best off road tires out there. I know that no, one tire will work for everything.
So I guess I'll start this of, the best off road tire that I have experiance with is the Goodyear Wrangler MTRs in 37/12.50/R16.50 on Humvees. Not the new ones with kevlar the tires that came out about 2 to 3 years ago. I've seen these tires do some pretty wild ****, and they're not to to terrible on the road. All that said I still have to confess that the best looking tire on the market is a set of swampers.
(buy the way I'm a FNG from florida and am more experianced with florida mud and iraqi moon dust)
Money aside, I really liked my SSRs. Really good traction, really good road ride. However, for a budget, i have been thrilled with my Goodyear RTIIs. It is hard to argue with $100 a piece brand new.
for mud, depending on the composition in your area, boggers first, and ground hawgs and tsl's and sx's are a three way tie for me. rock's bring the ghey in my opinion, so i have no tire opinions for them. for an all around trail tire i say swamper sx's if you are running 38's or less, if bigger than 38's, go regular tsl's. if it is a multi-purpose tall truck, ground hawgs will last forever even with lots of street time. i have about zero experience with radial m/t's, but most will work about the same and just don't have the tread voids of the larger, more aggressive bias ply tires.
bigdumbdan351 whats up man im bored haha hows the bronco....i think we need to slowly evolve the thing into a badass trail machine.
Don't start spamming up other threads for no reason. Take it to the thread about his Bronco or the B.S. thread.

Yeah, running the SSR's on my F350 I really liked them. They have a decent bite in the mud and not bad on the road. If they made them in a bigger size, I would definately buy them again.
When you say off-road tire... what do you mean?
Off-Road could be mud, rocks, trails.. all sorts of things not paved.
that's exactly what I'm trying to find out, my only experiance is with florida mud but now I'm in TN and there is a whole differant terrain. So I figure I propose an open ended vague question and see what comes in, while at the same time giving people the oppurtunity defend their decision of best tire for mud, rocks trails etc...
sorry about the quote deal brother, this is the first forum I've messed with, and if it doesn't show I work computers about as well as obama leads the country...terrible
but I will say that nothing touches boggers in the mud, or rocks from what I see in the 4x mags
I think this would be better debated if we knew the size and/or price range. For example: if you want 31s, then your selection is a WHOLE lot bigger than, say 40s. I like the price vs performance of the Goodyear RTIIs, but they only come in 36s. This is great if you want cheap 36s, but say you want 33s? Then my Goodyear suggestion is worthless.
alright i'll have to agree with you guys that it was to open ended, so TIRES 2.0
what is your opinion on the best all around tire that will fit 16.5 inch rims have short asphalt duties on a 78 F250 with a 400, granny 4 speed, np 205, 3/4 ton d44 up front and3/4 ton d60 4.10 gears, and sling gorrilla turds at stuck chevys in the mud hole
