So I decided to finally add a steering stabilizer onto my 02 f250 7.3 4X4 and I was thinking of getting the bilstein 5100 stabilizer, along with replacing my shocks with the bilstein 5100 as well. I have been doing some research and I have read mixed results that the 5100 stabilizer can only be used with a dual set up as it wants top push to the left. But I have also read people have added it as just a single set up and it worked fine. Currently I do not have a stabilizer on my truck. Does anybody have this set up or any in put on this subject it would be much appreciated.
I replaced my stock one (leaking) with a 5100 a couple of weeks ago. I decided there was no real benefit to a double set up for me. It made a pretty noticeable difference on dirt roads and uneven pavement. No pushing to either side, no problem at all! Much more beefy than the stocker.
I replaced my shocks and stabilizer with Bilsteins well over a year ago and do have the 51000 series stabilizer with no problems. I did not know about the supposed problem of it pushing to left until I had already been running it for about 6 months. I did have it aligned three months ago and the shop did not say anything about it or any other kind of alignment problem. I have not had any problems so far and after this long probably won't. I am running stock size tires 265-75R16 and the OEM single stabilizer mount setup.
