2015 F-250 Bumping Issues
At ~8,500 miles while cruising at 80 mph on the interstate, the truck would occasionally jerk like the transmission was slipping or it was starved for power. The only gauge reaction was the turbo boost gauge jumping up and down. Constant speed and RPM with no downshift of transmission. It would happen when the truck needed power. Temperature outside was 80F. Didn't get it to the dealer and had no problem in the winter months with it cold outside.
Issue started again at ~13,000 miles as temperatures outside warmed up. Same issue PLUS truck jerks in traffic when not on cruise and you try to gradually speed up without turbo kicking in. The truck jerks like the transmission is slipping or it is underpowered (kind of like taking off in 2nd or 3rd gear and popping the clutch). Brought the truck to my local dealer and left it with them for 4 days. They found no issue - "We can't duplicate it and it isn't throwing us a code. Everything is in spec." I contacted Ford and was told they have no report of this issue and I would have to bring the truck to another dealer for evaluation.
At ~19,600 miles, I brought the truck to my purchase dealer and left it with them for 3 days. They found no issue - "We can't duplicate it and it isn't throwing us a code. We contacted Oasis and they don't have any record of this issue. There's nothing we can do." At each of the dealer visits, I offered to take them on a ride to show them what the truck was doing but they each had excuses as to why they couldn't and offered to ride along at a later date.
I know that there are a number is items that could cause this issue - turbo lag, differential slip, improper fuel delivery, etc. Because the computer - at both dealerships - says the truck is fine, they can't and won't do anything.
On top of this issue, this 2015 gets 4 to 5 mpg less in fuel consumption than my 2011. This is driving the same routes that I have driven for 3 years in the 2011. Same differential and equipment, but the 2015 is supposed to have better fuel consumption due to the turbo changes....
Any thoughts or help on this issue would be appreciated. It's annoying (and embarrassing) to have a truck that can't maintain speed or accelerate without jerking.
Let's get this on the radar of your regional customer service manager; I know they'll want to do all they can to assist. To make that happen, send me a PM with your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership. If you don't yet have PM privileges, let me know and we'll find another way to get your info into my hands.
