Sorry for all the questions, but this clutch job is driving me crazy

So, finally got the clutch all in trans refilled and was going to put the shifter in and we ran into all kinds of problems!! WE could not get the arms to line up with the internals of the engine. It looks like the shifter got moved some time in the last week and now nothing seems to be lining up!!

Is the any kind of diagram as to how to align the arms? everything just seems to be out of whack!

Also, one of the plastic guides has gone missing off a shift fork. Is this something we can live without for a bit and is there a source for these?? Does summit carry them??

The NP's top cover need not be removed to change the clutch. Why didn't ya just remove the shifter lever from the tower? That wouldda been waaaaay easier.

NP435 shift lever retainer cap (7220) has two notches, is retained to the shift tower with two pins (7221).

To remove this cap, it must be pressed down by hand and held down while turning it counter clock wise.

People unaware use pliers or channel locks to remove it, which tears out one or both of the notches. Not pleasant!

well, we got it today!! The shift forks had gotten out of sync and were causing all sorts of problems. Once we got the lever off we were able to move them back and forth till they matched up with the right places in the trans. as far as the nylon, once I pulled my fat head out of my dumb butt I remembered I had another 435 in the back so we robbed the parts out of it for the one in the truck. The boy is testing it now!!

It is amazing how good a fresh clutch feels

Dodge F150? I don't know anything about Dodge's and F150 would be a Ford.

If you get the Dodge part number, I can look and see who has the part.
