shifter stuck Help Please

i have a 89 f-150 4 x 4 302 with a 5 speed manual. I was downshifting today to pull in a parking lot and i put it 2nd gear and now it is stuck but it seems to be in 4th, i can drive the truck but it wont move (the shifter). My trans doesnt have any shifter linkage on the out side the shifter go into a round hole. I checked the clutch fluid good , the clutch works fine, i jacked up the rear to release pressure on the drive shaft nothing. Any ideas? I was supposed to be selling this truck this weekend

Sounds like your linkage is stuck. There should be two arms on the left (drivers) side. Try moving them forward and back.

There is no linkage on the tranny anymore. It's all internal. If I were to guess, I'd say you either have a shifter rail or syncro problem. You might have to pull the top cover with the 10(?) bolts on it and take a peek inside. The shifter rails will be attached to the top cover when you pull it out.

took it apart and one of the forks is bad, now i have to find one uggg

They probably won't sell you just that part but the whole tranny. You can always try.
