No Not yet. It does seem to prevent any sun glare off the lens. It should also help protect the plastic from UV and direct sun heat in the summer. Even though the camera is water tight it should also help prevent any water intrusion and water droplets on the lens. Will know more next month when I go to the Sierras for a week.
