Didn't finish reply. I'm no spring chicken myself and 8 hours seems right on spot. Also agree with you that everything was very easy and only one manifold stud broke. Where did you get your replacement engine from ? Anyways thanks for the info and good luck with your engine....

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I used the alternator holes on the front and the 2 transmission bolt holes at the top on the back. I ran a tap into them from the inside of the V just to make sure that the threads were good and bolted the chain up there. I have an adjustable engine sling that allowed me to change angle as needed.

I don't need a new engine as mine is running fine. It only has 60k miles on it at this point. The only reason I decided to pull it out was to drill the exhaust studs. Some might say that is crazy but I tried a few and did not like the way it was going so I decided to pull it and take the opportunity to clean and paint the engine compartment. While I was at it I also decided to take the front suspension apart and sand blast, paint and replace all the parts that might need attention. I also bought some OUO Radius arms that I will install when I put it all back together. Is a lot of work but I have nothing better to do with my spare time. You can find engines on the net with a couple of Google searches but I can't speak to the quality of any of them.

Have fun...

Ran out of oil and then what? Started knocking? Quit running? Locked up?

Where are you located? We might know someone close that can rebuild it.
