Oh yeah, got to go for a much longer ride today after finishing up the brakes. It goes pretty darn well down the road! Power feels better without 3/4 of the brakes dragging.
I noticed a few things. There is something that seems the size of a golf ball in the drivers side rear tire... The tires are passenger tires! :O While backing up slowly I can hear one of the front hubs clicking slightly. The hubs are all froze up and won't turn by hand. Also there is a heat shield rattle at just one certain rpm.
Everything seems to work like it should and stuff. She might be a good one!
This isn't quite that rat **** smell though, it is more of that stale AC water smell.
Thanks for the offer Greg! I will see what I can get done with sprays and foggers and whatnots first.
Vwags, I will look into this stuff. What is the BG abbreviation for?
Sure you probably have mold and mildew after it sitting 5 years. Sorry-it will kill you. Park it, burn it-take the insurance...or say the original South American Drug Lord posing as a car dealer stole it from you.
Is the upper heater core ok--no mildew around carpet etc?? Lysol won't touch that stuff. In houses you wipe it out with bleach but that doesn't sound like a good idea with a vehicle.

I did have good luck with castrol super clean once but I had the dash out and all orifices of the heater were in the open for spraying. Super clean has some sort of acid in it though, I am sure that is what did it that time. I'll get it out somehow. I might poke around tomorrow and see what holes I can probe.

That RPM specific rattle may just be the sheet metal lower torque converter cover, they will do that sometimes. Pull it off and see if the rattle goes with it, if so give it a little warp or twist by hand and reinstall, should quiet it up.

Funny you should mention that. I thought that same thing when I heard the rattle (has that exact kind of sound) but the funny part is I didn't put that lower shield on yet.
I think it may be the "ears" or tabs of the upper shield that hang down towards the lower shield.
Also the exhaust hooked up makes the V10 sound like a 4 cylinder? wtf? lol
Tracking says my fan should be here friday. I will be able to go anywhere with the X then!
I did find that the cooler fittings on a 7.3 are different than a v10 though. The stock v10 cooler has flared fittings like on the trans, the 7.3 cooler has a barbed fitting. What does the 6.0 cooler have?

My 6.0 cooler was also barbed, though a different size. Had to adapt it to my stock tubing.

V10 exhaust is not like a V8. Has to do with the firing order.

I have read that the 6.0 coolers are 1/2".
I always thought that if I did the upgrade to my 7.3 I would run new 1/2" line back to the trans just because. Maybe even change the fittings in the trans to 1/2" for fun. Get rid of the bypass and install one of those thermostat bypass deals and the whole bit.
But I haven't seen my trans temp go over 180 yet sooo. lol
It takes an install tool to fog it which if you bring it to SoCal I could help with. If you want to try it let me know, I can get the product. It is sold by my BG distributor but not through BG. I have used the BG product in the past which is:
