Tailgate weight capacity?
Anyone know what the tailgate weight capacity would be on a 2013 Lariat F350?
I need to load a 400 lb lawn tractor and I need to know whether I should remove the tailgate or not.
I cannot find information in the owners manual.

I do not know but I have had WAAAAAAY more than 400 lb on my tailgate. I am sure you could leave it on.

The times my buddy and I sit on my tailgate enjoying a cold one, we're way over 400lbs!

Not to mention, when loading a lawn tractor the entire weight will never be fully on the tailgate at one given time.

You are right... I still have it in my mind that the change was for 2016. It is IN 2016 as a MY2017.

It is rated at 500lbs loaded in the centre of the tail gate. With all of these things, there will be a "factor of safety" involved, so it will handle much more than that. I have loaded an 800lb motorcycle with the weight fully on the tailgate with no problem.
