Tailgate Step Limitations ?

Regarding the tailgate step equipped tailgate, are there any tailgate weight limitations when the step is secured? Using the Ramp Rite ramp support, the ramps are not resting on the tailgate edge but rather on the Ramp Rite fixture which is inserted into the hitch receiver. When the load being wheeled up the ramps is going to ride across the tailgate do I need to be concerned with the step or the step mechanism being damaged with the load crossing over it? The load I am thinking of would be wheeled lawn equipment, an appliance hand truck loaded with an appliance, anything with concentrated weight on wheels...the manual does not address this (that I could find), it merely addresses the operation of deploying and securing the step. Thank you.

It will be fine, I have had 500 - 600 lbs on the edge of the tailgate (I have the man step too) and it's been fine. I think the tailgate has a weight limit but I think it's more for a load on the tailgate while driving not for loading and unloading.

Thanks, whagen...as an aside, I once had the cable snap while staging cinder blocks going into the bed, what I believe occurred (over several years) the open end cable fittings (facing up) collected water over time settling in the bottom of the 'U', causing the cable to rust. I replaced the cables and immediately dabbed a bit of RTV silicone on the fitting ends to prevent water from entering and have done so since on any new cables or truck purchase. The graphic touted by Ramp Rite illustrates how their product shares the weight of a load between the hitch receiver and the tailgate, in their example of riding an ATV up the ramps they illustrated 450lb on the tailgate. I would imagine that they based that on some knowledge...I was worried more about 'crushing' the step mechanism within the tailgate rendering the step inoperable...thanks for your feedback.
