Stock AD injectors will flow 135-140 cc's of fuel. The 160's will push 20 cc's more with 30% bigger nozzles. Should give you somewhere about 350 hp, 50 hp over stock injectors (with a chip) and all supporting systems up to par.

so to run these i will need a larger turbo, or just upgrade to a riffraff billet wheel and a T-500 HPOP?
i already have a DP F-5 in the truck. 99% of the time i run in 80 econo tune.

A larger turbo would be beneficial, but it is not absolutely necessary. The GTP38R pairs great with 160/30's if you do want to upgrade.

HPOP upgrade may or may not be needed. If your stock pump is in good condition, then you will likely be able to hold ICP just fine. If it is in not-so-good condition, a T500 would be a good upgrade.

Make sure you have your chip reburned by us if/when you upgrade injectors. You will need it since you are going from split shot to single shot, and they are a different size.

Let me know if you have any questions. I would be happy to help you out.

Justin nailed it. ESPECIALLY the chip. So many people overlook that and assume they've wasted money and complain about all they spent and how crappy the injectors are they baught. Good Post Justin.

You should not need an HPOP upgrade. The stock pump will actually yield better performance when going from the stock split shots to single shots.

You could data log your ICP & Duty Cycle before and after the swap.

Here are two examples, the first one is towing a 31' 5th wheel camper loaded up. the second is a WOT throttle run. Both with a stock HPOP and single shot tuning. ICP maintained at 3100 psi, duty cycle right at @ 40% on both graphs.

Like Justin said, a turbo upgrade is not necessary but would feed the injectors nicely. In addition to the 38R you could consider the van turbo (1/2 the cost) or adding a 1.0 housing and a compressor wheel upgrade to the stock turbo (a few hundred). Roland had a similar setup that worked very well for him.

hpop has 190k on it. the injectors are showing wear, it has a flutter when cold and mileage is in the gutter, only around 11 mpg.
i have talked to Jim at rosewood and he agrees the injectors need freshening up.
the reason i was asking about the 160/30's in because one of the Joiesy boys here has a set for i think he said $600, or $800
i am not looking for more power, the truck is plenty fast and strong as it is. i am looking for dependability and reliability.
the truck itself is still in good condition, so it only makes sense to have the engine in tip top condition too.

If the injectors are used, be sure to send them off to be flow tested and checked out before installing them. You would not be a happy camper if you spent a few hours installing injectors, just to find out one of them is not working as it should.

The most dependable and reliable approach is brand new stock sticks. #2 choice would be brand new IH AC160 with stock nozzles. The bigger nozzles are modified sticks - with an eye on more HP at high RPMs instead of more torque at lower RPMs. I went remanned - shortly before I yanked them and went new (link in my signature).

Flow testing is crucial - but not at the default WOT test. You want them to flow test the sticks at idle setting and cruise setting - that's where the engine spends more of its time and where you want optimum flow balance.

The stock injectors with a 60 HP tune can slightly exceed the performance of the stock turbo, air intake, and exhaust. Going to the IH 160s with any nozzle means you need to chip up (I had my PCM reburned to handle my injectors in the event of a chip fail), turbo up, intake up, and exhaust up.

I went with the 38R because it's a drop-in and it has roller bearings - I did not want to stay with the journal bearing. With everything breathing well (in AND out), my MAP/EBP ratio is very close to 1:1.
