Buzzing voltage regulator

Buzzing voltage regulator
Got my dad's 51 running today, but the voltage regulator is buzzing intermittently. Is this the sign of a bad regulator or a bad generator or is it a symptom of something else?

We're not sayin' till we see some pics. We love pics you know. Just kidding, I don't think the gens put out too much at idle. Somebody will be along who knows a bit more about this than me.

Regulator is mounted in stock location, truck is almost all stock, other than aftermarket box with hidden tailgate latches. I really do need to post pictures, the truck is so beautiful I could stare at it all day! Glad to have it running well enough to actually drive it now too.
