hey guys, I've grown up working on family restoration projects but never anything of my own. I want to build a f100. I was offered a 66 with the stock 352 That runs and drives. It needs work but I'm definitely looking for a project. Has original tailgate and only needs some minor welding on the rear panel on drivers side. It has power steering and 3 on the tree. He wants $1100. Think that's reasonable? My only problem is it's a long bed... And I love the old short beds. Anyway, any info may help.
I also did some inspection underneath. Core support is decent. And cab mounts are all good except one needs replaced. It also needs s new bed as a small tree fell across it. Thanks guys! And also, some cool ideas for long bed builds are appreciated too. I've been checking out Google but that only gets you so far.
M, One thing many folk can't handle is waiting and jumping in without a plan.
Why buy a banged up long bed when you want a short bed? Take your time save your money. You will spend $10-20,000.00 or more on this project, that will last 5 or more years. What kind of front end do you plan on using? You keeping the I-Beams or subbing something else in. What engine trans are you using, I might think something 2010 or newer for some mpgs.
