I've been restoring my 1980 F350 2WD and I'd like to know if there was any place I could find a decent stock bed for not a whole lot of money. I was working on a wooden steel flatbed, but now I think I want the traditional pickup look. Thanks
Boomer....it always helps to know what price is in your range... Are you looking for a 200-$300 bed or one that's 500-$600???? You want an 8 foot bed, correct? Do you need one with a tail gate? I know this is the 80-86 Forum but would other years work?
In other words, I'll keep my eye open but I have to know what to keep it open for....
Well I only paid $500 for my truck and it is in decent shape but I probably wouldn't want to spend any more than $500 for the bed. I am looking for an 8 foot bed not a step-side or anything like that. I guess I'd need a tailgate too but I'll take anything I can get. I'd like it to have the tailights in it but anything will work. Thanks
I don't know how bad shipping costs would be but rust free beds are a dime a dozen out here in California. Shipping would probably be murder though. I bought an engine for a sports car one time for $200 but the shipping was $300. A bed would likely be the same or more since it would be oversized.
Know any friends that are truckers and could throw one in with a load? -gggg-
Seriously, there are probably tons of them anywhere dry like here, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and SW Texas. You just have to figure out how to get one up there for cheap.
