This morning it drove fine, didn't misfire at all. Would the temperature outside do anything? It was cooler outside this morning, than it was yesterday... I found the second fuel filter. I'll try replacing that this evening.

A crapped up filter will do this let us know how it runs after you change it. Take heed and read the directions to replace
Nope. Wasn't the filter. Might be idling a little better but that's about it.
What codes are you getting now? Also are you running a cat? Lastly have you verified your timing, please refer to this thread again to set your timing as per spec
I think it's the egr valve. I unplugged it to make it stay shut, and it hasn't cut out since. I will drive it for a few more days and see if it acts up anymore. I appreciate the help.
Okay. It's stopped doing the back firing since I cleaned the egr valve and changed the spark plugs and wires. It has started to jerk once while I'm driving, and has died a couple of times while just cruising at a steady 55 mph. Any ideas???
a failing fuel pump maybe the culprit, any codes? Is the fuel pump in the tank on your truck, forgive me, I'm not that awful familiar with the FI trucks
