scanguage 2

Hi all. my 05 decided not to start Tuesday. Ran fine Sunday to Deleware and back towing a trailer, about 320 miles....oh well. Can't seem to figure out right off the top of my head if its the IPR or not so i bought a scanguage 2 today and was trying to find out where to get al the x-codes to enter into it so i can fix my girl. Any and all help appreciated! Thanks!!

Just a quickie check, Have you checked the fuel reset behind the passenger kick panel. Have seen this be the cause twice under your circumstances. Shut it off for the night and next morning no start.

That's copied from a previous post and pasted back to a note. When I post it, I just have to find the note on my iPad, click on the note/ select all/ and paste back into a open quick reply window. I also can flip through my notes without going to the web that way. I have a couple of notes that are all hyperlinks to threads here at FTE (and other places) so I can do the same thing to post links to anything I've made a note of. The first list of threads got so long I made another one so stuff would be easier to find.

Thanks for all the responses!!

I did check the fuel shut off, it is ok.

We did get it to start one time and had a good snap-on reader hooked up to it. It would only throttle up to around 1000 rpm and at that time we had around 1200 psi of oil pressure reading at the ipr valve. The guy who ownes the reader said that should be much higher and said it was either the IPR valve or the HPOP. He said it should be up around 4,000 PSI or so while revved up to around 1500 RPM. Does that sound correct?

He reccomended taking the IPR out and checking the screen for a hole. Would a hole cause the problem?

I did just change the oil about 3,000 miles ago and put hot shotts stiction eliminator in it. Was worried that may have caused a problem....

I was in there about 40,000 miles ago and did the IPR, and the STC fitting and all the other reccomended upgrades in there. Was hoping I wouldn't have to go back in there.... The truck has 109,000 miles on it now.

When I did the repairs before, the IPR valve had a hole in the screen and the screen in the valley under the HPOP had a hole in it too. That was a sudden shut down while driving. Just thought this was odd that it ran fine the day before but now wont start. After it's little burst of running, now it won't even attempt to fire up, just cranks.

Will be programming the scanguage 2 tonight so I can try to figure it out tomorrow. Any idea if there is a program for the oil pressure at the injectors?

Thanks again for everyones help, I wouldnt even attempt all this without your help!!
