Ford rear end off set
I have a 60's 9" Ford rear end under my 50 F-1. The pinion on the rear end is off set a couple of inches and I'm putting a Ford 302 motor in the truck. Do I off set the motor to one side to compensate for the rear end off set? Or do I angle mount toward the pinion?

You can do it either way. The engines were offset in Ford trucks in the 60's and 70's to line up, but plenty of trucks are rebuilt with the engine centered with no ill effects.....including mine.

Ford begin offsetting the entire driveline 2" to the right in the early 60's to gain 2" of driver seating and driver foot room. They still do this today. That is why the axles are offset to the right. I recommend reading John Niolon's tech article on pinion angles before the final install on the rear axle.

Don't angle the transmission tailshaft towards the pinion. The axis of the engine/transmission should be parallel to the axis of the pinion. It's OK that they are offset from each other from side to side.
