Went to an auction

Craig Hahn,Dmptrkr, and I, along with my neighbor Grant, went to a Vanderbrink auction that was held in a nearby town. I didn't go with intension of buying anything, I just wanted to see if the prices would crazy nuts. It was a beautiful day and was a fun event to just get out and do something. It was also a Vanderbrink auction, they aren't usually so close.

There were a pretty decent assortment of Ford cars and a couple of trucks along with a big shed of automobilia and another full off of parts. Prices didn't get too crazy,IMO.

These are two that I specifically wanted to watch. The '36 panel was rust and dent free and sold for $19K, the '49 F-2 was stock with a V-8 and looked very nice with a relatively free restoration, it went for $18K. I didn't think it would bring that much, maybe $10-12K.

Man, did I want to be there. Settled for wrestling a well pump to a draw instead.

Saw that 36 panel at Jefferson and was impressed with the condition. That is a bunch of money for a bit of a project.

I was surprised the F-2 brought so much. I figure if that one was a 10 mine is about a 7. Using that I think my truck might be worth a little than I thought, I guess I better adjust the insured value.

Love the panel. That grill really sets it off with the contrast.
