Missing PCM?

Okay, maybe not "missing" but I don't see it where I read it should be

I read this: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...ml#post6396151

To find your PCM code, you can either remove the case from the back of the PCM and look at the code or you can take a small mirror and check the sticker on the connector. The connector is located on the firewall directly below the master cylinder about 2 inches from the driver's fender. On the side of the connector facing the fender is a sticker with the part number and Catch (Box) Code. Depending on the year of the truck you will find something like XLE4, PMT2, NVK3... always 3 letters & 1 number.
But then I look at the pics I took while changing the intake and it looks like my firewall is empty at that point?

Maybe somebody can spot it and help this thick-headed fella out

Thanks

Should be this one. There will be a 10mm bolt in the middle of a rectangular plug.

After you loosen the bolt and pull the plug, the PCM is on the kick-panel near your parking brake.......in case you were looking for it outside

And the bolt stays in the plug. Once the bolt is loose and you remove the retaining bolts on the inside the PCM does not pull straight out...you have to move the end that is closest to you to the right toward the brake pedal and then pull.

Search "7.3 chip installation" on youtube and they will walk you through the steps on how to get the pcm out...its kind of a pain in the butt the first time you do it but you'll cruise right through it every time after that.
