Hello. I was wanting some opinions on how to fix the rust on my 86 f150. Its on both sides of the roof at the front of the drip rail.
Im not very good with body work. But, i was thinking of spraying por 15 behind the holes after i clean them up better. Then, im going to have the holes welded up and apply more por 15. Folloed by seam sealer and primer.
Topic has come up on number of occasions. Had similar issue with my 65 but fortunately the rust had not eaten thru and was able to use the appropriate body filler. Ran a search in the 'how to' menu and came up with a few links may find helpful.
I have come across drip rail replacements for Ford passenger vehicles but not for Ford trucks, yet, seems if section of drip rail needed to be replace it should not be difficult to take similar contoured drip rail replacement and blend in a piece, with any luck may only need 1 replacement rail?
