Opinions on Tires (Hercules and General Grabber specifically)
Now that I have replaced my wheels I'm getting more serious about getting new tires. The wheels came with tires on them, but I'll only get a couple of months out of these before they'll have to be replaced.
I don't need anything high end on this truck. It's not a daily driver, high performance, or even 4x4. So economical is the name of the game. That being said, I'm wanting to bend that rule a bit by getting slightly oversized tires. To fill out the wheel wells a bit. I'm not looking to go over 31's though.
Anyway, I digress... I got a quote on two different tires today, but I have no experience with either one. One is Hercules (I'm told they are a Midwest company that were big back in the 70's & 80's). The other is General Grabber. They both look ok, but I'm not a tire expert by any means.
I know I could always get something like BFG's, Good Year, Micheline, etc. but I think hose would be unnecessarily nice (and expensive) for my needs.
Thoughts?

The Hercules are generally Chinese made… not my first choice. Don't know about the Generals.
I use www.tirerack.com as a reference for most of the tires I buy… great info and you don't have to buy a thing.

I've never heard of the hercules brand, but i know from experience general tires ride comfortably and last pretty decently. have a set of general grabber red letters on my 79 bronco love them. also have a friend that runs his truck on their all-terrains and he always brags to me. so thats my .02
