The block casting number is, d2ae-6015-ba16, and above that was a little stamp that had 2523, my intake has a d3OE-9425-ba just curiosity as to the difference in the OE AND AE, I know the d3/d2 is 73 and 72, I'd also like to find casting numbers on the heads but can't seam to find them anywhere.

E= engine division.
A= full size Ford car.
O=Fairlane and Torino.
But this is USUALLY which vehicle the part was originally designed for. Not necessarily which vehicle it was installed on.

A D2AE-BA 351W block casting would have a 9.480" deck height ('74 model would have a 9.503" deck).
The head casting numbers will be found on the under side of the heads --between the pushrod holes, on the underside of one of the intake ports.
I kind of have same situation...87 f250 with a 351...d9ae-1650-ed-18...I understand the first half.......what is the ed-18? Trying to determine I'd my dad's truck has a 351 roller or standard

Off the top of my head, I don't think the truck 351W went to a roller cam until around '94 (possibly late '93) -- you would be looking for an F4TE block. '87 would definitely have a standard hydraulic cam and not a roller.
The D9AE casting you gave goes back to a '79 model Ford passenger car engine. The basic part number for all Ford engine blocks is 6015 regardless of engine type, instead of the 1650 you listed.

You are right as rain as usual Steve. My computer shows rollers as POSSIBLE as of 1994. 94-97 could be either. F150's with a 351W. I think by 1996 standard lifters were pretty much phased out.
