Ok- Drained the transmission and torque convertor today... I dropped the pan, and found there is no plastic enclosure on the shifting solenoid pack... Should there be? Is it necessary? It seemed there was a thin plastic coating on some of the board, but it was peeling away in places... In any case, after fully draining the trans, I put a new filter & gasket in...Went for a ride, and the same transient CCC solenoid issue(94) popped up. As I mentioned before, the solenoid checks out ok. I also replaced the connector to the solenoid pack: I would have preferred just swapping the weather pack connectors into a new plug, but what they sent had pre-done leads... So I went with it.
And I really don't feel a downshift when I step on the gas most of the time- is this normal with the E4OD?
Anyway, the long term memory is now showing a code: 33: The emmissions book says this is "EGR opening not detected". It has been doing fine so far: I think tomorrow I'll check the connector first thing. I have to run 1 gal. of Mercon ATF back to WalMart tomorrow am, and pick up a couple of quarts of Type F so I can flush the power steering & put new stuff in. Then I plan to do a compression test & plug change. I don't have the $$ for cap, rotor & wires at the moment. THEN I am hoping to get some work done on my TR6!
But a question:
With regard to the 94 code: the solenoid pack checks out ok, (20 ohms, not grounding) and there is a new connector in place... Still throwing a 94. What else could be the problem- An issue inside the ECM?
