E4OD replaced the solenoid Pack and Plug, need help

I have a 93 f250 7.3 NA 2wd e4od 204K.
I had a problem with the plug on the Solenoid pack the red wire pin and the purple orange wire pins had corroded off. I got the truck in May it has a ford reman tranny.
I ordered new pack and harness plug from Matco. Installed both, Pack had same part # and nine pins as origonal, also installed a drain plug. Now the tranny still wont shift correct. it locks up in drive and will stall at an idle.. rev. and first seem OK second locks up hard but it goes , drive free wheels after you pass the speed of first. This is how it shifted when it first failed. Then it went to limp mode after I unpluged the connectors to look for problems. Now when I look at old plug I notice that it must have arced between those two pins. I have verified in every way I know that I wired the new plug correctly, colord match and I only cut one wire at a time and traced both new and old to the pin, to make sure of no mistakes. when I pull the PCM power fuse, the trany shifts in limp mode.
With a test light I have power at the plug on both the red, and the white/red wires. with the fuse in.
I unhooked the battery cables to clear the computer. no avail.

Just got in from dropping the pan again and loosening and re torquing the pack in place while it was still warm. 90 inch/pounds, working from the middle out to the ends, no change.
Is it possible that the arcing / eating away 1/8" of the plug between and around the pins could have toasted my PCM?? If so were is it in the truck and what are my options for getting a replacement, Hopefully not a Stealership only Item.
I have tested the FILP sensor and that test A-OK. all fuses test OK. The OD light was flashing till I disconnected the Batteries. now it is off. and not flashing.
Before I ordered the pack and plug I took it to a shop to have the codes read, we couldn't get a code. I did have my neighbor verify that the pack was short a pin. at that time I thought it was only one that was gone. I now see Pin 1 and 2 are missing.

After I sent the question I went out to my shop and was looking over the
old Solenoid pack, I still have both the plug and pack. I can't begin to
tell you how many times I have opened the wires up and held the old plug
right next to the new and compared wires. What I may have found is this, The
plastic cover on the old pack has the same part # as my new pack but that is
a snap off part. The Old pack's electric connector doesn't have the back
fastening snap Lock. I now " think " when they installed this Transmission they
installed a 1995 and up, updated one and it has the newer solenoid pack in
it. from what I have read it is this one,

Solenoid assembly, E4OD, 4R100, NON-PWM, 1995-up,

and I got the older one.
Solenoid assembly, E4OD, 1989-94,
.

I now think I just bought and installed a non returnable wrong yr. pack.
&*(%$##@@!

My trucks wiring harness had the original end on it. another sign of
wrong pack is the Old pack doesn't have a sealing gasket in the packs
connector, the new pack does. They make/have and sell a different end for
95 on, most likely the harness end has the sealing gasket.

Tomorrow I am going to bring the old pack into my basement work shop and
take a close look at replacing the two missing pins, when I was looking at
it out in my shop building I saw that the pins are soldered to a connection
board that is assessable. I have a good selection of small brass rods and
also Music wire, in various sizes. I may be able to de-solder and then
remove the old and solder in new. If that works I will reinstall the old
and fill the connector with Dielectric grease and see how that works.

I may have the wrong solenoid pack. ( I may have a
solenoid pack for sale on Ebay soon.)

Does anyone know what has to be changed when they updated the Tranny?

Thank you for your time and possibly answers.

Long live the IDI

I had similar problems with my 90. In the end I had to replace the pcm as well because of the differences.

Trike1946, did you get the PCM from a Stealerdhip or did you find an outside source? Is the PCM the connection directly under the Vacuum boost, or the middle connector w/ 3 times the wires?

I got it from a stealership. It was almost 2 years ago. I will have to go out and look at the wires tomorrow.

1994 e350 e40d

I have and 1994 e350 diesel 7.3 non turbo. I took this computer apart because was acting erratic, I look thru every single component and could not find any problem, I still
replaced the pump and the converter. Now this is the problem spins in neutral and in drive however will not go in reverse or 1rst or 2nd gear. took trans out again and rebuilt the valve body and the same problem. I tested the solenoid body and all solenoids tested good. but now I disconnected the plug that goes to the solenoids and it does the same thing. in other word the plug does nothing, transmission act the same with plug connected or disconnected. like to know if anyone had the same problem and what was done to fix. thanks

There is something mechanical wrong inside the transmission. There is nothing electronic that could cause this. It isn't the valve body, either. It is something in the rotating components.
