Hot no start

hey guys I need some ideas on why my truck wont start once it gets warm I have a 1997 F350 7.5L I put new headers on an exhaust. I thought the headers where getting the starter to hot b/c once it sits for about 20mins it starts. So i bought a heat sleave for my starter and also heat wrapped my headers. it seemed to help a little bit b/c i can run it longer and it will start. but if i drive for a while then try to start it, it wont start till it cools... any help would be great Thanks

You may have weakened the starter by getting it hot more than a few times. A heat shield will work better than the sleeve and the wrap. My banks kit came with a shield that is probably 18 gauge and just uses a big hose clamp to go around the starter, and I've never had issues.
