hey guys I need some help, I have a 1997 F350 7.5L I just put new heads on and now when I start it, it has a very loud engine squeak. I have checked all pulleys and I have even taken the belts off and started to see if it was any of the accessories and it was still there. So my next guess would be the water pump is bad. any ideas of what it would be before I tare it all apart?
Thanks for the help.
now that Im thinking about it idk why I thought it would be the water pump since its belt driven. I pulled all the belts off and it still made the noise.
one time squeek or constant?
Does it change with rpm?
could just be a very minor vacuum leak.
Another option is something with the transmission/flexplate that could just be barely rubbing. Of course I dunno what the squeek sounds like, so I might be totally off base.
its a constant squeak while its running. when I rev it up it goes away for a second but then it comes right back..... I took a video of it but idk if I can upload it up on this site so you guys can hear it
figured it out.... stupid mistake on my part. I was in to much of a hurry putting it back together and forgot to scrap the old gasket off the upper intake so it wasn't sealing right. took it off cleaned it up and no more noise.
