Ever since I installed my header my '95 f150 i6 has had a hot start problem. When I first got it going, when hot it would crank too slow to start. I figured heat soak so I put a heat blanket around the starter and that helped a lot.
Next my 10yr old battery gave up the ghost. Now I have a brand new 875cca battery. When cold it spins the fire out of it. Now when it's hot I still have trouble. It cranks slower than when cold, but still plenty fast enough to start it. However, it has to spin for 20-30 seconds before it will start.
Now if I can forego the starter and pop the clutch it starts instantly.
