Vent Window Cracking

1949 F5 (without a flat bed until this summer) has been running around Champaign IL for about nine months. I have some odd problems that I need som e advice on and the first is the custom vent windows I had made all cracked in the frame. They were made with two pieces of safety glass by a shop in Chicago that specialized in vintage restoration glass. Now they were probably too thick going into the frame but I was able to push them in by hand. The frames are/were in great shape. So any advice on alternatives including plexiglass are appreciated.

LMC Truck. Perfect fit. Excellent packaging. You might get them before the weekend. I learned my lesson the hard way about trying to get glass cut locally.
