Thanks! Nope, I taped around the emblems then used some paper to mask around the truck for overspray etc...Left it alone for a couple of hours and removed them. Not too hard. The rear was the hardest cause I didn't tape between Excursion and XLT, but came off pretty good once I figured it out with a pick!!
Got the bumper mounted...definitely Superduty bumper only fits with some massaging! Bolt up looks the same, but the spacing is bigger on the SD. Also I would say the bumper is straight vs.wrapped. I will let the pics do the talking. I will take a couple more tomorrow, been a long day between kids, school, and mounting this thing slowly! Still not done, need to drill the second mounting hole, and adjust the bumper.
Been awhile but I needed a new air filter and came across a closeout at rock auto. Wasn't to happy with the Fram, but lo and behold what was in the box! Not bad for 50.00 if you have a AIS.
Good find! I bought 3 on close out from RockAuto last year for next to nothing per filter. I have filters for the next few years now.
I am not that lucky to a find a close to nothing deal!! I was going to order a few more, but not sure how long the AIS is going to be in there. Might be getting a new turbo
Sweet deal on the filters, how is the Headlamp project coming along?
All done for now. I need to make some final tweaks and they will be good to go. I think I can raise them a bit more. I will try to snap some pics in the AM and update the post.
And sitting pretty in the truck!! Gotta say I am very happy. A little slower building boost cause still have the factory injectors, but when it builds it goes and does not let up. I think I snafu'd the boost line. I had some time constraints on me today, but the turbo and plenum inserts are in.
Holy smokes... now THAT's an interesting way to port a housing (circle of holes). Thank you for posting this picture. In 20 years of loosely following this engine, I've never seen this turbo before, although I've certainly heard about it.
