They don't really, in a way COP engines are simpler and definitely look tidier but when one of the modules breaks it's more expensive to fix.

No.. computers rarely fail while spark plugs, distributor caps and rotors need to be changed regularly.

Will we always be able to get computer parts to fix them ? everything is being moved to China and this is plain scary. So the coils themselves are more pricey the computer is to but the system is much better ?

The computers in these trucks were all manufactured in north america with military grade components so there isn't a more reliable part on the truck, while all replacement parts you buy new now are built in china where quality is sometimes hard to come by. For ignition parts in particular I have been using OEM Ford parts that I source from a local junkyard instead of brand new aftermarket parts because the old Ford parts are more reliable.

It pays to make sure engine and computer and body grounds are solid and tight low resistance with good cables, corrosion preventive compound and dielectric grease in the connectors, good battery and charging system etc.

Your a great help. I have a feeling people are going to be in for a surprise coming up and a lot of these vehicles will end up being boat anchors and the old easy to fix models will be rolling.
