I have been having problem in the last couple days. My truck has been shaking on start up and smoking blue smoke. I found on my number 5 injector that the brass washer was blown out and I put a new one in and the same thing happen. Anyone know what's going on. I messed with it all day today and couldn't find anything. Thanks. Jack

 

That injector is junk.when the combustion gasses cook it the injector seizes, galls or whatever. It gets real unhappy

 

So do you think that is what is causing the shaking? And rough idle and smoke?

it's best to replace them as a set.also note however,it's also best to replace the ip at the same time (especially if it's original) as well,because the injectors working correctly again,can strain an old tiered out ip.then of course,the timing should be set as well.
but if she's an old beater with a heater and you just want to keep helping it along,replace just that injector and see how she goes for a spell.

 

I do have some good used orphans around if you know your brand and code.
