Brake clunking noise
Brake Clunking noise. At least it sounds like the sound is coming from the brakes. When I press the pedal......and not very hard either, I hear a clunk.
It will not do it twice. Sometimes if I back up, it will reset and clunk again as I go forward and apply the brakes. Could it be the sway bar in the front? Do the brake calipers move?
The truck has about 30k on it.

Have your brakes been serviced by a shop in the past? If so they might have forgotten to put the clips back on the ends of the pads to take up the slack that would cause this. It sounds just like a brake pad moving to me. Sometimes a newer brake pad from an aftermarket isn't quite as long as the factory one and it has too much play. If it is the calipers doing it major damage would occur as 2 long bolts hold them in with no room for front/rear play unless one is missing maybe which I doubt. Even if they were loose it still wouldn't make a sound like you say happens. Can you have someone duplicate the sound while you listen at each wheel?
