2015 F250 diesel. I am hooking up an air pressure gauge inside the cab to report the pressure on my rear aftermarket air bags. The pressure reading will come from a tap on the actual pressure line, but I need 12vdc to operate the backlight on the gauge. I have found a bundle of loose wires under the steering column, 4 of which are firewall pass-through wires for the upfitter switches. Does anyone know if one of the remaining wires in the bundle is an accessory power wire? I need a plain key-on accessory wire connection, not a dash-light connection.
I am using one of the upfitter switches to switch my on-board air compressor and a second switch to inflate/deflate the air bags. Want to save the other 2 switches for future use.
Look for a white with blue stripe wire taped with the upfitter wires. This wire per diagram is suppose to be customer access and hot in run/acc position. This is not one of the upfitter wires.
Thanks for the info, Larry. Can you tell from the schematic if one of the wires in that bundle is a ground, or do I need to find a ground somewhere else?
Quick question. Besides poking each of the loose wires under the dash with a VOM to figure out which one is hot. Does anyone know which ones are ignition hot for trucks without upfitter switches. I'm hooking up power to my trailer rear camera monitor. I know I can buy upfitter switches and add them latter, but for now what wire is ignition hot.
I'd rather not go about stripping them to figure this out. In the meantime I will surf the net for wiring diagrams.
Where are you mounting the pressure gauge inside the cab? I have OBA but no gauge because I haven't found a clean way to mount it. Post a pic once you install it. In other vehicles I always pull 12V keyed power from a cigarette lighter
