Like Tor said, many have had good success with the Mishimoto. It costs more, however it does come with a lifetime warranty.
Here is a LONG thread detailing people's experiences with the Mishimoto stat. I have yet to put mine in, waiting for the weekend as I just got all my stuff for a proper coolant flush.
Ok thanks Toreador.. so I am taking it they a pain in the *** to change? Is the Factory a 200 degree and would it be wise to first check the cap and replace maybe its not holding pressure ?
Sounds like they are going to owe you. Why on earth would a dealer put different used tires on a vehicle and tell you about it. Every dealer I know wont touch used tires and they all have contacts to buy new ones cheaper than most. Very shiesty indeed....

You'd know if it wasn't holding pressure, you'd have white residue all over the top of the degas bottle.
You have to drain some coolant, pull the air filter, and remove the upper radiator hose to get it off. Replace the o-ring while you're doing it because it will leak.
You got 19.3 mpg running 80-85 mph with coolant temp at 145?
I know I was puzzled also.. I fueled up 3 miles from where I picked it up. Everything was hand calculated 2052 miles the price at all stops was 2.59 I filled up 3 times. I used 106.3 gallons of fuel... will it get better with a good thermostat in it? I did notice it had a 4 inch from the cat back. I have no idea of brand. I cannot tell whether it has a tune in it or not

Its kind of a catch 22, the cooler the oil is, the thicker it is. In plain english, it fires the injectors better, however, the fuel doesn't burn as well given that the engine isn't hot enough, so the truck leans out the fuel for the temperature that it's seeing, hence the better fuel economy.
It happened to me on the way home with my '05 Excursion. Temps would not go higher than 170 or so and I got 18.3 mpg before I had to fill up again.
Well here you go guys.. My Bride and I arrived in Vegas Friday and went Saturday to pick up the Ex. We went to the dealer and visual inspected the truck there were minor things that was not disclosed but nothing major the dealer advised also that he changed the tires for "better newer ones"?? really hmm??? I looked at them and yes they had better tread but I never looked at them closely. Well a long story short we did not make it but 80 miles out of town and had a left rear blow out my wife was driving and we nearly rolled the Excursion. After many choice words and alot of praying I calmed down changed the tire and I proceeded to take over driving running 50 with the flashers and 30 miles later the right rear tire blew. We were stuck on the side of 93 50 miles west of Kingman ,AZ for 5 hours and I finally found Best Tire in Kingman. " AAA was absolutley no help we waited 4 hours with no a show. Anyway The Best Tire Store in Kingman,AZ are Awsome the shop normally closed at 6 on Saturday well We was at their shop till 9:30 they got us up and running after keeping their staff after hours for us. We made it home over 2 day and 2052 miles. The truck has sustained $3700 of damage from the blow out per the estimate I got today from the bodyshop and 1300 worth of tires. I have contacted the Dealer several times with no resolved. I found out from the Tire company the tires that dealer put on was manufactured 49 week 2001. They had good tread but was severly dry rotted. I told him I agreed to purchased the truck with the orignal tires that pre inspection verified and I never authorized any additional work or tire to be changed. So I am now trying to figure out a avenue to pursue. Now the good stuff We are safe at home the truck did flawlessy running 80-85 mph after putting new tires on all 4 corners of course we avg 19.3 mpg running 80-85 and only spent $275.00 in fuel.. Very pleased with performace and over all drivability of the truck.. now I got a question there were times the Coolant temp and eot were more than 15 degrees apart. I am concern that the truck might not have a thermostat in it or it is a low temp maybe cause it has been in AZ its whole life? With temps outside @ 54 degrees the coolant temp was 145 eot was 176.. during the hottest part of the it was withing 8 - 10 degress, I will post pics tomorrow of tires and truck... Thanks again for everyones help!!!
Glad you got home safe. I hate that you went through that ordeal. I would certainly think you're owed something for your trouble. I know I'd be taking another long weekend to Vegas if the dealer wasn't playing ball.
Can you post the dealer info? If it's an actual authorized dealer then they are about to hit skid row, but if it's just a buy-here pay-here lot (sounds like it) you have a lawsuit against them for both reckless endangerment and for changing the condition of the vehicle after it was inspected and a deposit (or in your case it was paid for) was paid without your consent.
I'd like to see the screenshots. You need to double check whatever is monitoring your EOT. That would be extremely unusual(read:unbelievable) to have such low temps under those operating conditions. Above peak TQ you're burning some fuel, and its impossible to keep EOT < ECT under those conditions, with factory hard/software.
The mileage claims are reasonable. I've seen lower MPG numbers, with higher average speeds, over long distances.
Take some pics of under the hood for us. Overall, and the area around drivers side battery. Maybe something else is manipulating those numbers.
And, who is this dealer?! I'm in Vegas, and I've never heard such a thing(except when I busted a tech doing burnouts in my own truck).
