I've got a little over 800mi on Hot Shot oil addative. Nothing major to report yet but I understand it takes a while to work for most trucks.
I still had another 2000 miles to go on mine to get to the 7500 mark but after doing my work and looking at the oil I just couldn't wait. I had to change the oil but then again-it's warm out so no stiction

Any difference with the HSS? My stiction is bad enough it still idles rough an rattles with outdoor temps in the 50's (f). Runs great above 130° ECT. I've tried the other two common addatives with some success, figured I'd try this one just for the sake of the argument (and Bo says it works differently). We'll see I guess.
Be wary of products that claim to be applicable across different types of fuel. Gasoline and Diesel Fuel are different fuels which requires different types of additives. Any additive that makes a laundry list of claims very rarely does any one of them well.
There are, however, a few diesel additives that do a good job of cleaning the injectors. If you would be interested, we would be happy to send you a sample of our Diesel Power!® Maximum Injector Cleaner product. This product will help clean the injectors, demulsify water (especially important for newer diesels), and provides a lubricity package. Please just PM us your address if you would be interested in trying that product out.

Cool offer. I use the gas additive in all the mower, pressure washers and generators.
The problem with stiction is there are two locations for this. The most common side
is the oil side of the injector. The fuel side can have it also but it tends to not be
as much of an issue at the oil side.
That being said anything that improves the lubrication on on the fuel side will help an
injector live longer. After all this engine was designed for LSD not ULSD that we get now.

I am willing to give it a try.

The folks from Sta-Bil will hook you up Sean. I've already gotten mine. I Haven't started using the Diesel Power yet because of the HSS being in the crankcase now. I didn't want to do two things at one time and not know which made the difference if there is any. The 360 is in my gas cans now. I'm also looking foreward to that first tank of summer blend diesel .
Well right now I am more or less clean unless
you could the two stroke oil and PM22 that I put in.
There might also be a little of the Archoil in the system
from before the last oil change.
Here is my experience with SF and my 6.0L. I have used SF for years, especially, in my 6.0 and farm diesels. Fact, most diesel injector repair shops use SF to clean injectors and they use a 50/50 mixture to flow test the injectors once repaired. I put two cans in my oil about 200 miles before an oil change. I used it as a fuel additive. Put two cans in about every 5 fill ups. Before I installed my AD2 fuel pump, I would take all of the fuel out of the engine fuel filter and refill with straight SF. I now use Archoil AR6400-D diesel treatment and about every 5 fill ups I add a quart of Royal Purple synthetic ATF. 125K on the clock and never had an injector or turbo problem.

And in the 35+ years I have NOT used diesel fuel "additives" in any over-the-road HD/MD/LT truck, tractors /equipment, I have operated, and never had a problem......... I am just wondering which way to go now...............

In all those years, I guess my injectors never got "dirty".
Strange how some diesel engines operate for literally thousands of hours and the injectors don't get dirty.......
