93 f250 XLT 7.3 liter 4 wheel drive extended cab long bed 5 speed.
A while back my tilt steering broke. not the adjustment part but the piece that holds the steering shaft in the center. my question is would it be easier to replace the whole steering column or to try to dig into the steering wheel and replace that bearing?
I'm afraid if I disconnect it from my power steering unit my power steering and it will fall apart. Lol would that seriously be easier than just taking the steering wheel off and getting to that bearing?
you do not touch the steering box. it is connected under the dash and then you have the connector shaft that goes down to the box. you can probably pick up a good column for $50.
it will most likely cost you over $100 to rebuild the column.

thanks for the info I just looked up online a diagram for my steering column you're absolutely right about not touching the column itself. I'll look around see if I can find a tilt box thanks again
