I just found a one owner 1978 ford 150 ranger it only has 13,000 original miles on it it has a 351 cleveland-automatic p/s p/b the body has no rust, interior is great the engine sounds good, the guy said that his father bought it new and he died a little over a year ago,he said that dad had always kept it in the garage now he brought it down to florida and now it sits in his back yard over by a tree the brake booster is rusty & needs to be replaced & so does the air cleaner the whole engine compartment needs to be cleaned & repainted, the guy said that he wanted $8500 for it so later he said that $7500 was his bottom figure boy i sure wish that i had the room for it if i bought it i would have to sleep in the garage for about a year-WHAT IS IT WORTH?
To me I'd say $6000 would be the high end price. i'd be way more comfy down around 5K. I'm betting its probably an M motor and not a Cleveland. If it has the stock valve covers you can see what the tag says (typically on the drivers side valve cover I think)
The low miles might drive the price a bit higher. Keep in mind though, that unless it has a camper or something like that then the sleeping is going to be mighty uncomfortable for the next year or so or at least until the little lady cools off.....LOL
