Gear on display?

Hello all. I know that when you are in the manual mode you can see which gear you are in on the right hand side of the small display between the speedo and tach (forget what that display is called). Is there a way to configure that screen so you can see which gear you are in while in "Drive"? With six gears to go through and these things shifting so smooth, I just think it would be nice to be able to tell what gear you are in at any particular time (especially when towing). -Glenn

I believe if you touch the paddle shift button up or down it will display the gears .

Anytime your are in D just press the + button once and it will show the display. The display will then show you what gear the truck is in or when it shifts. Until you press the - it will not lock out any gear 1-6. You have to turn it on each time you re-start the truck however. Tow Haul mode does NOT have to be on for this to work.

I agree with everything else but my truck does not need to be reset every time I restart the truck. Once it's set, it set. Maybe it's a year thing. But I know '13s and '14s don't need to be reset either.
Maybe it's a base model cluster / Platinum model cluster difference.

My 12, stripped XLT. doesn't need to be reset each time either.

So it must be the "XL cluster" I'll call it.

What he said. Just press the button, you can also "lock out" gears if you like, just keep pressing the button and the display will cycle through the numbers for the corresponding gear, if you want 5th &6th locked out, just cycle thru to 4., and so on.

Hi Paul......

If the gear numbers are displaying when you shut off the truck....they come back when you restart. This was true with my 2011 F-350 and my current 2015 F-350......

Right on the money. The only thing that needs reset is if you have locked out any gears.

Press +/- button strait down a middle, when in D. That switches gear display ON/OFF.

My '15 does not have to be reset unless I hit the button, other than that it stays on once I have set it.
