I am sorry I didn't mean it in a rude way what so ever. Just wasn't sure how in the world you could be consistently getting that kind of milage and the truck still be in a daily drivable state. Figured it was something in the calculations. I do apologize if it was taken in a negative way was honestly just trying to help. my bad.
Cleaned the MAF on my truck a few days ago. Simple procedure, and did not appear to be dirty from my old eye inspection. I do have a K&N CAI and did expect to see some oil residue in the bore, but did not even with a finger swipe. After cleaning, I have noticed about a 1mpg gain, SWEET! Not much, but in V10 world that's significant. Seems to have a little better throttle response. Not bad for about 30 minutes work.
Diamond- I had a K&N filter for a while, nit only oil but sand from thr beach went past it, that was my que to go back to paper OEM.
I have used K&N on everything I have ever owned without an issue. Also lived at the beach for almost 20 years and never had sand get past one. Not saying that it cannot happen though.
After reading other SD owners with a CAI having issues, I am going to go to a dry filter from AEM. I tossed my OEM or I would put it back on and do the zoodad mod. Eh, you live and learn! Sometimes the hard way.
Well it's been a few tanks since I ran the STP through, and slowly my mileage is increasing. At last fill up I was at 9.9 MPG. My old Yukon got 11.9 so I think i am doing pretty good. Hopefully I can get it to creep up a little more.
