So I drug my boat 2 hrs on Tuesday and the truck was running good no problems and then I jumped in the truck yesterday and I have a Service Engine Soon light on and it feels like the truck is missing its shaking more than usual and doesn't sound quite right. I stopped at the store for about 15 minutes jump back in the truck and no light and its running like normal. I went fishing for a few hours came back and the light and symptoms were back.
I haven't tried it yet today but I'm still 2 hrs from home in Pensacola and very minimal tools with a boat to get back sometime on Friday.
Only previous similar symptoms that seem remotely similar to me is that when I was pulling a heavy load (30' bumper pull toy hauler) up a grade it would kind of sound like it was missing before it downshifted and got the rpms up and the SES light would just barely flicker.
Here's a thread expalines the Under Valve Cover Harness or UVCH connection, a pretty common cause for the 1316 code. Easy to check with an ohm meter.
Also you should come on down to 7.3 section down below.
So I tested those harnesses and all seemed good, the glow plugs all tested at 2.4-2.5 but the injectors were all around 4.5-4.9.
Also, we drove the truck home (2hrs towing ~5000lbs) and it did fine, the light even went off and it went completely normal for about 30minutes of the trip but then we stopped for ice and it came on again when we got to lower rpms.
I'm thinking its probably time for a buzz test opinions? Anybody know a good shop around Gulfport, MS??
