Nice work, and a nice compromise of letting you keep the stock boomerangs for the strength and letting you have the desired clearance for the engine.

It looks like a lot of work that may not have been totally necessary (I would be in the 'don't worry about them' camp), but you did a great job, it looks like it will work perfectly fine, plus you can sleep comfortably at night not worrying about the frame nay-sayers.
