If the transmission you have came out of your truck, then you know it fits. Why not just rebuild the existing transmission?

.. yup, to me that's a bad transmission because it doesn't engage forward. Meaning, the internals are clogged, clutches are burned up, worn out, or the hydraulic circuits to move forward aren't working.

but to have all three drive shafts having slip yokes? i wouldn't doubt that it went bad. any idea on how hard it would be to rebuild?

i want to rebuild it myself if i can. save some money in the process but sometimes you can get a working transmission for cheaper than the rebuild kit.
