It's funny too, it's as simple as a rock but it's still king of the gassers. The big question of the last 25 years is "when will gm ditch the single cam w. pushrods for ohc?" All the other car manufacturers must have strokes every time the next gen of small block comes out while they're spending billions more just to get beat.

I've built some very gnarly stuff and have been lucky enough to have some rich acquaintances with more money than brain cells. . .600 whp high compression/cubic inch Na combos are the norm now with competent builders. 1000 hp on pump gas when boosted......all of which can be done by the devout hobbyist.

I'm going to sell my car to a childhood buddy of mine, and probably my van also to another buddy who has kids that are old enough now to take on some road trips....

That said, gonna find a high mileage c5 or c6 and gut it, 454 lsx block, magna charge, and full suspension/cage. Yea, it does get pricey, but it's cheap relative to the performance. And, could be worse, smokin crack could be the hobby......

I had a 95 Vette that cut 1.60 short times and ran mid 11s
They lost me with the rear transaxle though LOL

Yea lt's are no slouches. They're nice because of the compression they'll tolerate, I dated a girl in my early 20s and she bought a 6 spd lt vette that I ported/milled the heads, got an off the shelf cam and it ran low 12's on street tires spinning through first but with good forward motion to go with it. The optis kinda suck but there's at least some decent ones that can be used with some reliability.

awesome thing about LSX is their absolute ridiculous abundance in the jy from all the trucks. Swaps for decades.

Yeah, lots of LS motors going in buggies and hotrods. A 5.3 truck motor is plenty stout and the 6.0 is really powerful. I have never driven a Coyote Stang but it would have to be a bad sumagun to run with a new SS.

Hi Guys I have rebuilt my efi 460 with 20 thou decked off the block new cam larger valves ports are still standard E7 unfortunately but could not afford any head problems here in Australia as parts here are hard to find I have also replaced my injectors with the said #24lb 4 spray pattern and I have had to drop my fuel pressure to 30lb to get it run and it is still pouring fuel out the exhaust I'm getting about 150k to 68 litres of 98 octane (93miles to 18 gal) I did have to replace my map or bap sensor the one on the firewall not sure what it is called my temp gauge is always very close to cold but water temp is about 80 degrees also my egr is blocked off it is still connected but has a blanking plate installed
any ideas my I would be having excessive fuel consumption problems
any help would be greatly appreciated
