Filling the cylinder could be almost a liter of fuel, depending on where it is in the stroke. But it seems to me you could do the same job with less fuel. Get the valve covers off, remove the GPs, and loosen the bolt that holds the 42 pin connector together. Cycle the fuel pump 2 - 3 times, then disconnect the 42 pin connector and crank it. The GP hole that spouts like Moby Dick is the dribbler.

Never tried this... but it's just so crazy it might work!

The good injectors won't let any fuel out unless im cranking right?

Only issue I see is it seems like its only occasionally sticking (every 5-10 cranks it eventually locks) but I'm not sure.

Okay I have a few more questions.

Is it possibly my scan gauge is correct and icp is at 0psi??
Code i put in is right-but it always reads 0 while cranking-doesnt increase.
So I'm wondering if I have a high pressure oil problem??
Hpop is full of oil-I took the cap off and checked.
I don't know if I'm getting high pressure oil nor how to check.

But if I wasn't getting high pressure oil would I of been able to get it to stutter/smoke like a ******* while I was cranking?

Also-rpm gauge doesn't move at all-is my cps bad??
Again would it of stuttered if it was bad??

I Havnt had a helper been able to help me yet and I ha to steal my trucks batteries back out of it to use in my other truck lol

I don't want to dish out $175 for two crap batteries yet until I know this thing runs!

Someone help me out.

You would not get smoke or stutter if you had no ICP.

I didn't think so but I'm not sure why my gauges arnt reading icp then?
I know the scangauge works and reads everything on my 6.0l
But I put the code in for the 7.3 and it just reads 0.

Would it stutter/smoke of the cps was out?

Really trying to figure This thing out as cheap as possible.
Even with an injector stuck open I'd think I would still start?
Or would it bleed off fuel pressure too fast?

Hopefully i can get myself a helper soon to crank the truck while I watch for the flooded cylinder!

And I think ill order my injector from riffraff diesel unless someone knows a cheaper/better place (also thinkin about repalcing all the o rings on the injectors too or atleast whatever bank the bad injectors on)

Didn't even realize there was a florida section i requested to join it. Thanks!

I found full force diesel has reman injectors for $137/$100 core!!
Might be ordering from there!

Turbo exhaust clamp should be here anyway now so I can have that fixed.
Hopefully I can have someone help me later today crank/watch to see what cylinder shoots fuel so I can get a starting point.

No per injector lol.
I wouldn't even want to see the quality of a set of injectors that were $137! LOL!

SOO decide todo something stupid today and try a little ether to see if it would start.
Sprayed a little into the intake and cranked it. Fired right up for 2-3 seconds then died.
I'm noticing that it doesn't seem to try to start at all without ether.
I've done 4-5 10 second crank sessions with no ether and its not really doing anything.
Engines cranking over very fast.
Rpm gauge I finally saw move when I put ether in it and it fired up for a second.

Scangauge still isn't reading any icp pressure.

I'm about to just put it on Craigslist and let someone else deal with it. Lol

Unplug the ICP and try reading with the Scangauge. It should read a default pressure of something like 2700.

Look up the Cody test. It is also free to do.

If it passes both of those, you may be looking at a bad/stuck IPR or HPOP. With a known good IPR you can do some pressure tests on the HPOP.

Then I would not trust the scangauge. Get a bluetooth adapter and TorquePro app for a smart phone and try that, or get a hydraulic pressure gauge and plumb it into one of the heads.
