Well I definitely think an injector is stuck.
Put the glow plugs back in, took my scangauge into the truck, turned the ingnition on (so I could put the PIDS in the scangauge)-meanwhile fuel pump running.
Get the icp code in and go to crank-locked up
Really hope I don't kill a rod here.
I need to figure out which injector is the culprit so I can stop it from floodin that cylinder with fuel.

Like I said I'm trying to get it running as cheap as possible-once I know the engines good and trans is good ill be puttin a lot more $$ in it. -Oil change, fuel filters, and any other parts that need replaced as well as getting this nasty truck cleaned out lol.
But I don't want to spend a bunch of money on it if the engines shot or trans is shot.

Any tips on how to tell which injector is dumping fuel into the cylinder?

Yeah but 7.3's rely on good oil to run... it fires the injectors...

It won't start with dirty/old oil? I did not know that.

Update though-waited a little bit and truck will crank freely again.
Icp reads 0. Unplugged icp accordin to your pic-still reads 0 while cranking.

I was cranking with driver side alive cover off-harness plugged in, but glowplugs harness unplugged, intercooler line off and air filter off If any of that matters.

Also that exhaust leak I mentioned before....the exhaust line coming off the turbo is just loose. No clamp on it. Is there a special clamp I need to reconnect it?

Well Ford has their special springy clamps, but to just get it running... if you're talking about the rubber hose... a regular clamp should get you by.

Also, with the valve cover off, you should be able to see oil exiting the injectors when cranking..

Talking about this-the part that's wet seperates from the turbo.

What type of scan gauge is it? The 7.3l's are not OBD-II compliant - sounds like the one your using is not reading correctly. Unless the fuse to the OBD port is blown. It's also the same fuse for the cigarette lighter. So is I would check that one.

It's a scangauge ii
Lots of people use them on the 6.0's and there's 7.3l PIDS so I'm assuming it should work on the 7.3....
It's reading voltage fine just reading 0 icp
