Single Barrel on a 300
Anyone know anything about the chokes on 78 ford trucks. My 78 f150 custom has a choke cable in the cab that I think was not original (it has a self tapping screw in the dash panel) and its not actually hooked up. Im not really familiar with carbs. The truck actually fire up pretty easily (usually only stalls 1x in warm weather; cold is a different story). IM not sure if it is legit or not. Just wanted some input
P.S. I don't know how to identify carbs either, so if someone would like to educate me, I would appreciate it.
( I only know its a single barrel from looking at pictures)

As The Frenchtown Flyer said, your truck would have come with an automatic choke. Some people convert to a manual choke. Either way, without a properly working choke, initial starts are less efficient, especially as the temperature drops.
Here is a link to how the choke on your truck initially worked. Perhaps it will be of some assistance.
