Ok guys I have the same problem every year when it gets cold. The choke doesn't work right and I got to squirt some starting fluid in the carb. When its -5 out and I have to take off an aircleaner i get mad. I think that the choke is the problem it always gets caught on the bottom of the aircleaner. The choke is an aftermarket manual conversion. I didn't put it on so i think that is the problem. So how should the choke be rigged from the drivers side over the engine and under the carb or left to the right side of the carb? I need to know its really cold here in Ohio. And I hate being under the hood of my truck at 7:30 in the morning. Please help me guys. Or if you have used or know of an electric choke conversion.
Although this may involve standing out in the cold ( I HATE it too) go to a junk yard and find a truck with and electirc choke on it the choke housing and the chock cover and spring try and really look at the choke while its on the other truck that way you dont mess/forget how to put it on ....better yet get a manual for your applictaion by the way what your is your truck?

my truck has a manual choke and works just fine....it comes out of hte firewall on the drivers side and just goes straight to the choke. I had to make a braket to hold the cable though
