I need stainless where I live so please no recommendations of anything that is not.
I had an MBRP on my crew cab and it first like complete crap so I took it off and put a Flo-pro system on. Once I talked with them I got a good fitting tailpipe all was good.
I will say I have installed mbrp and diamond eye. I am with you.mbrp is not very good. Diamond eye is infinetly better. there is one more I have seen. Fit slick but can't for sure remember I wanna say afe but I am not 100%...dang it.

I am just trying to see what else is out there.
Suggestions?
So why are you guys saying mbrp is crap? what are the issues? pictures?
I've got 5" Diamond Eye on my truck. It's not the stainless kit, but fit great regardless. I have also installed Diamond Eye 4" on a couple trucks and they fit good too. I have heard lots of guys having trouble with the MBRP not fitting well. The only thing I have ever used from them was a 3" down pipe once, but it was okay. Clay has a pretty decent price on the Diamond Eye stainless too.
I'm running a 5" SS Diamond Eye Brad. I didnt use any of those chit U clamps the kit came with besides the ones called for at the hanger locations; insted I used stepped SS band clamps, welding the seams besides 1 or 2 is the best choice. Fit and finnish is nice; i had the tail pipe in and out several times cutting to get the correct fit and distance from the rear tire. With the 5" there is no room for the spare, tho I run 35s so doesnt matter much.. I'm very satisfied with it, sound is great and the pipe diameter looks proportionate IMHO..

The trans cross member was one problem. The down pipe also laid right against the cab floor(not firewall), NONE of the hangers fit right and My Stock B codes I really wouldn't consider lift springs, but it hit them too. All around it was a COMPLETE waste of time and $$

How does the tail pipe come out? Straight like the stock setup or on a 45*?
As for AFE, I think that was worse than MBRP. I put one of those on my brother truck a few years prior

Thats odd as my mbrp seemed to fit fine...with the 3" down pipe (obviously had to roll the seam)...
The 5" Diamond eye has my attention. has anyone ever used that on a 5 speed truck? Does it clear the spare tire and hitch?
My truck is a 5spd.. My biggest concern was how the tailpipe was going to exit the truck; i prefer a stock looking 90 degree bend. The tailpipe in the kit is a little more than a 45. At first I skowered the internet for exhaust shops in Maine and called asking if they had a 5" mandrel, no one had one. So i just bolted it on and when I was done suprisingly I liked the way it looked. I called Diamond Eye to see if I could exchange the tailpipe section for one bent at a 90 and they said they only come in specs around 45 +/-....
The exit is pretty good, not steller bur I'm pretty damn **** when it comes to how a component looks in my truck and I can live with how it looks. Ill attach a pic I took the other day; its not "of" the exhaust but I'll zoom in. Hopefully you can see the exit. I can take more pics when I get home on the 25th if you want to check it out further before pulling the trigger..
Fyi, the pic is a bit exaggerated, the tailpipe doesnt stick out as much as it looks, that being said I could trim it slightly..
My understanding is that any of the 5" systems will require removing the spare. I don't think there is enough space back there to get a 5" pipe past the springs and still maintain the stock location for the spare tire. Does that sound right?
It's unfortunate if that's the case, because I sure would rather have the spare down under the bed than in it, but I just don't think that is an option with 5". 4" yes, but not 5".

Yeah, I mentioned that a couple posts ago, you will not be able to retain a spare in the stock location with a 5" tail pipe. I have 35s, so mine has to be in the bed anyway...
